Complimentary Sneek Peek Preview - Marlay Golf Course 9 hole Par 3
In advance of the official opening of the newly redeveloped 9 hole Marlay Golf Course a Special Sneak Peek Preview will take place at the venue on Friday 21st May. The purpose of this Open Day is to showcase the fabulous new layout to the local community and wider general public. All golf on the day will be complimentary and golfers can book a tee time by visiting www.marlaygolfcourse.com or by calling 01 8609360.
Situated within the picturesque Marlay Park on Dublin’s Southside, Marlay Golf Course is a distinctive Par 3 layout that will provide affordable golf for all; from young to old and from the experienced club player to somebody new to the game.
Excellent Year Round Conditions
Using state of the art technology and the latest generation of synthetic grasses the greens and tees have been developed to tournament standard. This comprehensive redevelopment will ensure that the greens remain in peak condition and will be playable year round with no requirement to close for frost or other weather related reasons.
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council undertook this project with the support of Carr Golf Services who are leading experts in this field and are at the forefront of new innovation within the golf industry. Carr Golf Services will also manage the course on behalf of Dun Laoighaire Rathdown County Council and its sister company Golf Course Maintenance Services (GCMS) will maintain the course ensuring standards remain high.
According to Commercial Director of Carr Golf Services Ed Pettit; “Marlay Golf Course is set to be a hugely exciting & enjoyable experience where 9 holes can be completed in less than one hour. With spectacular water hazards, well crafted bunkers and some stunning views it is very much reminiscent of Par 3 course at Augusta National. A large emphasis will be placed on promoting the facility to juniors and families and throughout the year lots of fun events and tournaments will take place that should really capture the imagination”.
The course will be officially opened by Cllr. Marie Baker Cathaoirleach, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council at a special ceremony on Tuesday 25th May 2010.
The Marlay Golf Course project is part of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council's continuing commitment to the provision of quality recreational sporting facilities for the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown area.
